Casino Joy looks like one long-running casino brand.
Legally, it is more complicated.
The exact domain casinojoy.com was previously part of Genesis Global Limited.
That is not a guess from an old review page. Primary regulator material names the exact domain.
The UK Gambling Commission included casinojoy.com in Genesis Global's 2020 licence suspension.
The Swedish regulator also identified casinojoy.com under Genesis's Swedish licence when it issued a warning and SEK 4 million sanction in 2019.
Skywind Group's own 2019 partnership announcement listed Casino Joy in the Genesis Global brand portfolio.
Then the old operator's story ended badly.
Genesis Global:
- was fined £3.8 million by the UKGC in 2022 for AML and social-responsibility failures;
- left Great Britain in December 2022;
- had its MGA authorisation suspended in January 2023 because it was being wound up;
- had that MGA authorisation cancelled in January 2024.
The domain did not simply disappear.
A Sedo weekly domain-sales report records casinojoy.com sold for $6,000 on 29 May 2024.
Today the same exact domain has a direct Curaçao Gaming Authority Certificate of Operation.
The current certificate says:
casinojoy.com → Fortuna Games N.V. → OGL/2024/112/0974 → Active
with company number 162413.
That creates the central Sherlock finding:
same exact domain, different operator generation.
Sherlock does not currently have evidence that Fortuna Games N.V. is the corporate successor to Genesis Global Limited.
We also do not have evidence that old player accounts, balances, KYC records, exclusions or legal liabilities were transferred.
So old UKGC and MGA references are historical evidence about the Genesis-era Casino Joy.
They are not current regulatory protection for a Fortuna-era account.
This distinction matters because the major review databases already mix both eras.
CasinoGuru's current CasinoJoy profile says the operator is Fortuna Games N.V. and the current version was established in 2025.
But the same profile still contains a 2021 self-exclusion complaint, from the Genesis period.
AskGamblers currently lists:
- Fortuna Games N.V.;
- Curaçao;
- TrafficFlow Partners;
- but Established 2018.
Its complaint archive also stretches back into the old operator era.
That means a brand-level rating, complaint count or “years in business” number can quietly combine two legally different casinos.
For current players, there are three other issues worth understanding.
First, bonus caps.
Current CasinoGuru T&C analysis says CasinoJoy has a rule under which bonus-linked winnings may need to be withdrawn after wagering is completed, or later balance growth can remain subject to the promotion's cap.
That is not just a theoretical wording problem.
In one 2025 complaint, a player said a €1,000 real-money balance after bonus conversion grew to €9,500.
CasinoJoy later reduced the balance back to €1,000.
CasinoGuru closed the dispute unresolved, with an Against fair gambling verdict and a disputed amount of €8,000.
Other current complaints show €500 and €200 bonus/free-spin cap disputes with different outcomes.
Sherlock's practical advice is simple:
When wagering finishes, do not assume every euro in the converted balance is now outside the promotion. Save the exact bonus terms and check the withdrawable balance before continuing to play.
Second, withdrawal limits.
Current public sources repeatedly show:
€500 per transaction / day
€3,500 per week
€15,000 per month
One detailed current snapshot also publishes:
- €20 minimum withdrawal;
- 1–2 business-day pending;
- 5x deposit turnover for free withdrawals;
- KYC before the first withdrawal.
Sherlock did not capture the live first-party Cashier contract and did not make a real deposit or withdrawal.
So these are useful current third-party payment snapshots — not a tested CasinoJoy payout contract.
Third, KYC.
A current €1,000 withdrawal complaint was ultimately resolved after additional documents and staged €500 payouts.
A separate €380 case involving SUMSUB and proof-of-address verification was also ultimately resolved after further review/reset.
That gives us useful current evidence that verification can be document-heavy.
It does not give us a universal KYC document list or a guaranteed verification deadline.
Bottom line: Casino Joy should be read as two operator eras sharing one famous domain. Use Genesis Global material to understand the old history. Use the current CGA certificate for today's casinojoy.com. And when judging current risk, separate the 2025–2026 Fortuna complaints from the older Genesis archive.
